Fong’s Pizza, located on 4th street in Downtown Des Moines, is an up and coming restaurant. The restaurant was founded January 26th, 2009 by a group of local owners.
Although the name may be deceiving, they do not just sell pizza. They also have a wide variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and of course pizza. They are most famous for their crab rangoon pizza, which consists of a crab rangoon base, surimi, green onion, asiago, mozzarella cheese, topped with sweet chili lattice and wontons. “I do enjoy all kinds of pizza really, but I think that the crab rangoon pizza is one of the better ones I have tried! However, if I’m not really feelin pizza I go with the chicken parmesan.” Myrka Raygoza, an Urbandale High School Junior, commented, “I think all around they are a really cool place with a nice atmosphere. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere new to eat or somewhere different, because it isn’t your typical pizza joint.”
There are two locations for Fong’s Pizza, one in Des Moines and one in Ankeny.
