Rescuers search for survivors.

As shown in the photo, it was extremely devastating to the country’s infrastructure. Over half of the structures destroyed were housing units, such as apartments and townhomes. This means homelessness and cyclical poverty for the people of Turkey. Throughout the rubble, volunteers search for survivors buried beneath the collapsed buildings.

The middle east is continuing to experience aftershocks, ranging from 3.0-5.5 on the richter scale. The quakes appear to be spreading, now affecting Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria. The people of these countries can only wait for relief, no official evacuation or state of emergency has been implemented.
